The State and I

The State and I
One of the perks of seeing Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant at the Reno 911!: Miami test screening last night was that, like in the movie, the entire cast of The State appeared in my dreams that very same night. I was at some sort of college lecture sitting in the back row with all of the State guys. In a normal situation, I would be freaking out from just being in the presence of 11 of my idols, but for some reason in my dream world it wasn't a big deal. As the person in the front of the room spoke about god-knows-what, State hilarity broke out in the back.

Michael Showalter stood up from his seat and proclaimed that he was "outta here", which if you watched the State you would know exactly how it was delivered and why it would be funny. It was at this moment that the rest of the State, in a very State-like fashion, began to erupt with several different catch phrases which at this present state in time I can't confirm or deny whether they were real catch phrases or not, but my subconscious dreaming would have me believe that these were famous lines from the show. It was crazy and it reminded me of the ending of the skit where there is a serious love triangle between a group of high school kids wanting to go to the prom. It was actually more like a love octagon with all of the people involved. One by one they address the audience in a spotlight telling them of their secret crush, while the rest of the players freeze and their light dims. Anyway, the skit ends with all of them huffing and puffing saying, "going stag again". Anyone remember that one? No? Just me? Ok, well don't blame me. I already signed the petition to get the State released on DVD several times.

As far as the movie went, if you're dying to know what I thought of it, you'll have to ask me sometime.

In the meantime, I am deeply interested in Ben Garant's upcoming movie Balls of Fury. Any movie written and directed by former State members already has my seal of approval, but if you add my favorite actor into the mix and give him the character name 'Fang', nothing more needs to be said.

This makes me laugh. I didn’t even see you in this picture until like the 3rd time. Micheal Showalter saying “I’m outta here.” That’s great. I was bored at work today and I watched the blueberry skit from The State. I love it, I love it, I love it!

OMG! Thats great! Lets go and buy them out. I wonder if they have the banana stand there… the staircar… Buster’s hand chair… The list goes on. What would be a good practical use for the Milford Academy sign or the parking sign for George Bluth? Would those look good in my room?

i think i saw the stair car on an episode of “24″ recently.

Got something to say? Go for it!
