After getting such a great response from my recent posting on Otter Pops, I have decided to turn my personal weblog into The Unofficial Popsicle Blog Of The World. At least until the end of this post.
My roommate Robin Brown stopped by the market today and bought himself a box of Big Sticks. They’re the cherry and pineapple flavored popsicles with the lip-staining red and orange swirl. Delicious right? Another perfect Summer treat. Is it just me, or do these totally remind you of Summer School. Big Sticks, Cool Ranch Doritos, Chipwiches, and Jolly Ranchers. This could be very specific to peers in my age group who grew up in Orange County, but they completely define my Summers as a pre-teen.
It’s strange, but the only way you could get me to eat a Dorito now is if they were scientifically proven to give me superpowers and that superpower would have to be the ability to vaporize Doritos with my mind. And flying. Flying would be cool.
My personal favorite Summer treat these days is the elusive Choco Taco. Can anyone tell me why they don’t sell these at the grocery store? Ice cream man: check. Minimart: check. Albertos (or any variation of): check. Pavillions: shit no. Why the hell not? I live in a city with a large enough hispanic population to warrant a frozen treat shaped in a familar staple of Mexican cuisine.
And while we are on the topic of hard to find desserts, what ever happened to Jello Pudding Pops? I’m not talking about the disgusting frozen shit logs called fudgesicles. I’m talking about the delectable creamy popsicles that were once hocked by the great Bill Cosby. If I could find them I would sit down and eat a whole box. It would be so Raven.

Were those Jello Pudding Pops ever sold at Burger King? If so, you may be on to something because I loved those as a kid and I don’t even really like chocolate like everyone else does.
Big Sticks… definitely my favorite popsicle ever. Those yummy, chilly delights are often overlooked so thank you (and Robin!) for recognizing. Mmm… now I have to go buy a box!
