Morgan and I went on a short hike yesterday in Ventura County to check out an alleged waterfall that I read about in my Southern California hiking trails book. While a waterfall in SoCal isn't too hard to believe, one that wasn't in the local mountains or one that was actually still flowing after this year's sparse rainfall seemed to be a long shot. We decided to check it out anyways.
To our surprise, after a short one hour hike down the Moonridge Trail of Wildwood Park, we arrived at a decent size pool being fed by a modest sized waterfall. It wasn't much compared to the waterfall we saw in Seattle, but for being 45 minutes away from Hollywood, it wasn't bad.
Here is a link to my flickr set of the hike.
