A few of us went to the Ladytron show last night out in Pomona. I don't consider myself to be a huge fan, but I do appreciate most of their music. If you've never heard them, imagine if the tiny creepy lady at the end of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland sang with a band that played dark yet catchy synth from a variety of Korgs and Rolands, and that would give you Ladytron. You can hear some of their music here.
Their live performance was polished yet I couldn't get over the fact that they were painfully boring to watch. Granted, their CD's never led me to believe they would be a hyper pack of monkeys. The crowd tended to move and cheer for the first half of every song, but you could feel the energy level drop off as the song progressed. An abstract video would play on the projector screen behind the band, but even that wasn't enough to get the blood pumping. As great as they sounded and as hot as the female members of the band appeared, they still were about as exciting as watching dog shit turn white.
