I was driving down 17th street today off the 55 and saw this sign. I enjoyed its obvious poke at the contradicting and redundant name of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. They haven't been an LA team since 1964 so unless they somehow get California to change county borders in their favor, they should probably just go back to being the California Angels which was broad enough to at least make sense. I don't have anything against the Angels, except of course when they play the Dodgers, but I do think their misleading name is slightly ridiculous.

I completely agree. LA (not the Dodgers… the city) is a little beeotch anyway. Not that Anaheim is that great either. Whatevs.
That is really funny that they put that up on the 17th Street Billboard. That is a very specific landmark that, in my mind, is associated with Angels baseball. Ever since I was a little kid my family took the 55 North from either the 5 North or from Irvine Blvd when going to Angel/Anaheim Stadium. For some reason car rides seem much longer when you are a little kid. It seemed like it would take FOREVER to get to Angels games from South County. Whenever I saw that billboard I knew we were getting close! It stuck out to me because there were/are no billboards on the freeways in South County. In any case… GO LUBERATORS!
Thats funny. Maybe i’ll be a luberator when I grow up. It sounds cool.
