Don’t try this at home

Last night the Bento crew prepped for the music video shoot for The Fall of Troy that is shooting January 18 and 19. We have never been ashamed to ghetto-rig a light, camera, flag, or whatever if it means getting the shot we want. We once counterbalanced a C-stand rig that was holding the camera with an Adidas size 10 which was the only thing in the room that was the perfect weight. This shoot will be no different. Rather than spend the money to rent a crane or jib, we decided to have Colter's dad build us a quick and dirty rig that would allow us to mount the camera a few feet above the drummer. We took extreme caution when suspending the $26K camera 7 feet in the air above cold concrete. If the quick release plate happen to fail, at least we had a bright red rope that would prevent it from falling to it's doom. Right guys? Right? There are more pictures from last night's test shoot in my Photocast.

Got something to say? Go for it!
