After running a few errands earlier in the day, Morgan, Dan, and I met up at the Dude's house to set off on a what was going to be a short bike ride to San Juan and back. I was borrowing my parent's bike so that Walter could go with us too. This bike was probably purchased during the Reagan administration and has been sitting in the garage ever since. One of the tires had a leak so Dan patched it with his bike kit.
Our route went from Paseo de Collinas, to Camino Capistrano, to the Capistrano river bed that drains out to Doheny beach. This was a very easy and pleasant ride. The majority of the trip was flat so going and coming back was no problem. Once we got into San Juan we realized that it hadn't taken us very long so we decided to keep riding. We went through Doheny and ended up in Dana Point harbor and had a snack at John's Fish Market.
They had the really good crushed ice there. The kind you get at pizza places. Somehow it is better than the crushed ice you make at home. I am a fan of the ice that comes in little hollow cylinders. You know the ones you can put your straw through. How do they do that? Is a midget wearing a sweater in those machines drilling out the centers of these ice marvels? On the ride back home we passed by this character hanging out in the river bed. How fucking emo can this guy possibly get? Look at him with his black bandana, skin-tight jeans, and Prada sunglasses. I mean seriously, this kid decided that when he got out of school that he was going to go hang out with a bunch of fucking algae and a seagull. Are the pressures of living in Southern Orange County getting you down guy? I know how you feel. I always go talk to tadpoles when I'm feeling blue.

i love our bike trips!
