Since two thirds of my readers know a lot about me, this section doesn’t really make much sense, but I feel it’s good to have it there for the few and infrequent people who are just dying to know what The Goodbye Mailbox Weblog is all about.

Q. Why do you maintain a blog?

A. I have a bad memory. By maintaining a blog I am able to keep myself up-to-date with my journaling of certain happenings, thoughts, and insights dealing with myself and the world around me. In no way do I make the assumption that my daily activities are news worthy or that you’re interested in my life, but perhaps you might find something interesting or entertaining while browsing my thoughts.

Q. What’s with the name “The Goodbye Mailbox”?

A. I am a big fan of the long lost sketch comedy troupe, The State. One of their skits involves a conversation around a mailbox. At the end of the skit, the mailbox walks away and Michael Ian Black says goodbye to it. If you would like to see the skit, I have it here on my website.

Q. Do you have anything to do with the band Goodbye Mailbox?

A. There’s a band called Goodbye Mailbox?

Q. Are they any good?

A. They’re a ska band, so draw your own conclusions.

Q. Did you know that Goofy says, “Goodbye Mailbox” in A Goofy Movie?

A. I do now.
