After watching the most recent video podcast from MacBreak, I decided to create a photoblog that consists entirely of pictures taken on my Sony Ericsson W800i cell phone.

I saw this small ad in a local advertisement the other day and had no idea what it was for. At first inspection, I assumed it was for some company that fills cracks in cement or other surfaces. But then the caption threw me off. Do they dry out your cracks for you? And then to make things even more confusing it states "T-Shirts, Ballcaps, Franchises". WTF? Do they sell t-shirts, ballcaps, and franchises? Is that their business? Are they saying that they would like to dry any cracks that you might have in your t-shirts, ballcaps, and/or franchise? I had to go to their website to figure it out. Foundation Repair Specialists. Ahh, that makes sense.

I was reading the sports section of the OC Register the other day at work, as I always do to make time go by faster, and I happened to catch a write-up on the back page about the San Ysidro hiking trail up near Santa Barbara. From the description and pictures, I knew I had to go. Luckily for me, I was given a sweet three day weekend so I thought it might be fun to camp out somewhere up in Santa Barbara and see what the county had to offer since I had never been before. Apparently I wasn't the only one with the same idea because every single campground from LA to Santa Barbara was totally booked, so Morgan and I decided to go up for just the day.
The trail was a relatively easy hike and it was nothing short of beautiful thanks to the perfect weather and awesome scenery. Plenty of green plants and crystal clear water along the entire trail. Butterflies and dragonflies seemed to follow us around wherever we went. Other than a lizard with half a tail, we didn't really see any other wild life. We stopped about 10 minutes into our hike after finding a nice big rock to eat our sandwiches on near the moving stream. About an hour later, we found a small waterfall and natural pool off the trail and I took the opportunity to take a much-needed dip. It was painfully cold but refreshing to say the least. Although we ran into some other hikers and bikers along the way, I would say that it was a peaceful and quiet hike for the most part.

Surprisingly, one day was enough time to get a lot of things done although that's not to say that I wouldn't like to go back again. We hiked, took a nap on the beach, walked through a sidewalk boutique and picked up some good grub at The Endless Summer Bar Cafe in Santa Barbara Harbor. The Baja Chicken Sandwich and the Calamari was delicious.
Here are some pictures from the hike and harbor.

My roommate, Robin, and I were at the Angles game the other night enjoying a 3-2 victory over the A's. Orlando Cabrera was up to bat and his picture was prominently displayed on the Jumbo-tron over right field. I mentioned to Robin that if Cabrera grew out his moustache and hair in a bushier fashion, we could give him the nickname, Orlando Calrissian.
I thought it would be funny to create an image of Orlando as Lando and got a little carried away. Here you go.

This could be the best marketing device I have ever seen or heard of for a movie. The film had already created such a huge cult following months before the release date, and this, I am sure, will only help find more fans for this movie. I think I already smell a sequal.
Go here to have Samuel L. Jackson send someone you know a personal voice message.
This is one that I made for my friend Walter.

A recent post at engadget.com claims to have pictures of Apple's new cell phone to be released next week at the World Wide Developer's Conference. There have been so many rumors dealing with Apple's secret products over the years with countless renderings of the mystery products created in Photoshop by ambitious fanboys. I have even seen fake videos created that have the appearance of a homemade video demonstrating OSX running on an iPod. This is one time where I hope the rumor in question is fake. I do like the idea of Apple creating a mobile phone, however, the phone is a bit too feminine for me to get excited about it.

The Comedy Men From Tomorrow had the last show of their west coast tour yesterday at the Knitting Factory in LA and it was every bit of funny as I had hoped for. Michael Showalter was hilarious as were the other two guys, Eugene Mirman (who resembles Zach Braff circa 2013) and Leo Allen (who resembles Marty Knowles circa 2006).
Just hearing Showalter's voice was enough to make me laugh because it reminded me of a bunch of State skits. I really enjoyed it when he expressed his particular admiration for Creed when he said that he loves the song With Arms Wide Open so much that it makes him want to "dick-slap God". I was able to record the majority of his set with the video camera on my cell phone but the audio is crappy due to the fact that I rested the phone on the speaker in front of me. If anyone wants to brave the bad audio, message me and I will send you the link.
I also saw the two other Michael's from The State after the show last night: Michael Ian Black and Michael Patrick Jann. The only other time I have been to the Knitting factory was for the Stella tour a couple of years ago and I saw the Stella trio. So I think for now on, I will only go to the Knitting factory if it's to see a member from the State.
They showed this video last night which I found rather amusing.

Maybe I should create a blog entirely devoted to great Japanese television clips since I post about them enough. Here is the lastest clip that I happened to stumble across. Short and sweet. Click the image for the jump.

I found this movie clip on youtube.com that shows the decomposition of various fast food items such as the Big Mac, Filet-o-fish, and McDonald's delicious french fries. I will be the first to admit that their french fries are damn good, but I am pretty sure I will never eat another McDonalds French Fry for the rest of my life after watching this video.
It was done by Morgan Spurlock, the same guy who made Super Size Me, which if you haven't seen yet and you enjoy fast food, I would recommend you put it on your Netflix list. I'm not sure where this clip is from, perhaps the special features on the DVD, but I know this wasn't in the theatrical release.

My man Cody has informed me of a blog story that claims MTV's The State should be out on DVD or iTunes fairly soon. Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant spoke at San Diego's Comic Con about their upcoming movie but managed to sneak in some information on the highly anticipated (by me) release of The State other than Skits and Stickers and Bootlegs. As I assumed, the delay was caused by lack of music rights.
